Request a shortlist
Describe what you want tuned, the base model and where it has to run. We check that against what each fine-tuning vendor publishes and reply with names and reasons. Nobody receives your brief unless you ask for an introduction.
What do we check your brief against?
Each answer in the form maps to something vendors publish. The more you can answer, the shorter the list.
| Your answer | What we look up |
|---|---|
| Base model family | Which vendors tune that family and size, and with which methods (SFT, preference, reinforcement) |
| Examples on hand | Minimum charges per job and whether the price unit favors many small runs or one large one |
| Where it must run | Hosted endpoint, your cloud account or your hardware, and how serving is billed |
| Security review | Whether the vendor publishes the report or agreement you need, or will have to supply it |
| Help wanted | Self-serve platform, managed service or consultancy |
| Timing | Vendors with a published deprecation or wind-down that would cut a project short |
The vendors we check start with the eight on the scorecard. The how this works page explains how introductions and fees work.
Questions before you send a brief
What do I get back?
A short written reply naming the vendors whose published terms fit your brief, the reason for each, and any that came close but missed on one point (for example, no support for your base model).
Do I have to send training data?
No, and please do not. A description of the data (what it is, roughly how many examples, any rules on where it may be stored) is all a shortlist needs.
Will vendors start calling me?
No vendor receives your details unless you choose an introduction. If you choose none, nobody hears about your project.
Can I include consultancies, not just platforms?
Yes. Pick "A consultancy to do the work" in the form and we will look at firms that take on the data, evaluation or deployment work as well as the training.
What if we are not sure fine-tuning is the answer?
Say so. If prompting or retrieval looks likely to solve the problem, the reply will say that too. Our post on when to hire help covers the same ground.

Three steps. The first two take under a minute; the third is where the shortlist gets precise, and every question in it can be skipped.
This is an introduction service. The vendor you are introduced to may pay it a fee if you sign work together; the team asking is never charged.
Brief received.
- We read it against the published terms, model lists and deployment options of the vendors on our scorecard.
- We write back with the vendors that fit and why, by name. Nothing has gone to any of them yet.
- Want an introduction? Tell us which vendor. Your brief and contact details move only after that reply.
